Challenge:
PJ's Coffee of New Orleans came to Sonoco in search of a sustainable coffee bag.
Solution:
Sonoco found the optimum packaging solution— sustainable matte-finished, three-ply foil-based bags.
Results:
The one-pound form/fill/seal bag structure uses 15 percent less energy to produce and has 10 percent fewer carbon emissions than four-ply structure bags.
Laser-engraved, seven-color rotogravure printing and a matte finish result in a softer finish, minimizing the glare that diminishes the impact of flexible coffee packages. Vibrant photo detail elicits visual nostalgia and reflects the sophisticated flavor consumers expect of New Orleans roasted coffee.
